Grilled Yellowfin Tuna Steaks with Sun Dried Tomato Pesto

ingredients

  • 2 Tuna Steaks
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 2 cup Basil
  • 1/4 cup Pine Nuts (toasted)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (grated)
  • 1/4 cup Sun Dried Tomato (chopped)

method

  1. Preheat your griddle pan till hot. While the griddle is preheating, season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper, and lightly brush both sides with olive oil. When the griddle is hot, place the tuna steaks in the pan and sear on both sides for 2-3 minutes per side. Once done cooking, remove, and let rest.
  2. Add garlic, basil, and pine nuts to a food processor, and pulse until finely chopped. Slowly pour in 1/2 cup of olive oil while the blender is still running, and blend until you reach a smooth consistency. Pour the mixture into a mixing bowl, and stir in the parmesan cheese, then the chopped sun dried tomatoes.
  3. Slice the tuna into slices, and spoon the pesto over the tuna.
